Lisa and Scott review current dog news and story highlights of the week.
This week find out about DogFriendly.com’s list of top 10 vacation and resort spots to bring your pet. Complete list is available at www.dogfriendly.com. Lisa also reports details on a recent article about a dog who drove his owner’s car into a river.

foxtail4.jpgLisa delivers the Doggie Chronicles Tip of the Week with a warning about foxtails. A “foxtail” is a serious hazard for field dogs, or any dogs outside in the summer, are the hard seed-bearing structures of some kinds of grasses usually found only in states west of the Mississippi River. Their sharp pointy tips can get stuck into the fur, pads, ears, and even noses of your beloved canine. It’s important to check these places on your dog, if you are not able to remove them the best thing is to take your pet to your vet to have them taken out before an infection could occur.

Even if early attempts for training do not produce immediate results, continued support can increase your dog’s confidence and over time they may surprise you. Jean shares her experiences with dogs who succeed because of the relationship it builds in allowing them to please their owners. K9 Campus also offers a “Doggie Boot Camp” which is designed for more difficult or aggressive pets that helps them better listen and become more disciplined in and around the home. Their courses include behavior and progress reports they share with the owners to get the best most personalized results.
