Lisa and Scott review current dog news and story highlights of the week.

Lisa delivers the Doggie Chronicles Tip of the Week about moving with your dog. Moving your home or apartment is much more stressful to your pet than to the humans involved. Some tips to remember include; pack your pets toys last and then unpack the items first, always let your dog familiarize themselves with their new home before your actual physical move date, immediately show them where they should go to the bathroom, and do not be surprised if they act different or strange during the first few days of adjustment.

cheng_b.jpgDr. Aleda Cheng D.V.M., Veterinarian/Veterinary Acupuncturist, American Animal Hospital joins the Doggie Chronicles to talk about acupuncture techniques and treatment for your pet.

acu203.jpgUsing a technique almost identical to human acupuncture, Dr. Cheng’s experiences have shown that dogs are often more receptive to the treatment because they do not have the same level of psychological blocks that humans might to the procedure. Dog acupuncture is generally most effective for muscular and skeletal issues such as arthritis or hip dysplasia but can be used for most common pet ailments. Dr. Cheng uses acupuncture and other holistic treatments in addition to traditional methods of treating her animal patients.
