Stephney Bell, Senior Cruelty Case Worker, PETA joins the Doggie Chronicles to give some insight into her role in this often controversial organization. Stephney shares some late summer tips on how to protect your dog from the heat. Stephney advises to make sure your dog has access to plenty of water, including setting up a small kiddie pool to help them cool off. She also explains how to evaluate their symptoms for dehydration and heat exhaustion and how to see, sometimes subtle differences.

Dr. Aleda Cheng D.V.M., Veterinarian/Veterinary Acupuncturist, American Animal Hospital joins the Doggie Chronicles to talk about acupuncture techniques and treatment for your pet.
Using a technique almost identical to human acupuncture, Dr. Cheng’s experiences have shown that dogs are often more receptive to the treatment because they do not have the same level of psychological blocks that humans might to the procedure. Dog acupuncture is generally most effective for muscular and skeletal issues such as arthritis or hip dysplasia but can be used for most common pet ailments. Dr. Cheng uses acupuncture and other holistic treatments in addition to traditional methods of treating her animal patients.
