Clone Your Pet and be Best Friends Again

Lou Hawthorne, CEO, BioArts joins hosts Lisa Gorman and Scott Sheppard to discuss details and developments in cloning dogs. BioArts recently completed the “Missyplicity Project”, one of the first successful clones of a beloved family pet – Lou’s dog Missy who passed away in 2002. After 11 years of research and development, Lou was reunited with Missy through her genetic descendants Mira, Chingu, and Sarang. Mira was born in December 2007 and is a happy, healthy pup enjoying the good life with the Hawthorne family.

Lou also discusses a new program BioArts is offering, Best Friends Again that is a once in a lifetime auction enabling other pet owners to bid on one of 5 chances to obtain a clone of their pup. There is even a contest to win a free clone with their “Golden Clone Giveaway”.

Lou also informs us about some of the difficulties in cloning and why dogs have been one of the last animals to be cloned. Lisa and Scott also talk with Lou about the complex process that is involved in cloning dogs. Lou explains how to get involved in the action if you are interested.

Fireman Saves Blind Dog / Assistance Dogs

Jenny also tells us the difference between a service dog and a therapy dog.
